James Chapter 2

Don't show favoritism. We become judges with evil thoughts when we do. The poor can be rich in faith and inherit the kingdom.

Mercy triumphs over judgement.

Faith not accompanied by action is dead.

James chapter 1

Chaper summary: Do not become poluted by the world.

Testing of your faith develops perseverance. When you pass the test you receive the crown of life.

Ask God for wisdom. Wisdom is knowledge in practice.

We are tempted by our own evil desire. Desire that is conceived gives birth to sin. Sin grown up gives birth to death.

Act on your faith.

Commit to the Lord

Proverb 16 says "Commit to the lord whatever you do in your plans will succeed. "

This begins with committing to the Lord. After commitment comes planning. After planning comes success. This is a chain of events that begins with the Lord and his will and ends with success. If we break the chain we miss the blessing of success.
Note to self. Know the will of the Lord. Don't forget the lord in your plans. Don't forget to plan.

Bike to bridge

It is a beautiful day. The temp is 65. I went for a ride to the new bridge by our house. Yay.

March bike ride.

Rode bike in downtown cedar rapids today. I went 8 miles. Assuming I make it back.

April bike ride.

Laurie and I rode to the red bridge from the house. We found the geocache. Fun.

Robot prototype.

We finished the first robot prototype. The kids want to build a robot that picks up a bowling ball and steps up racket balls.

We were able to get the simple software up and running. Very cool and fun. The kids love it.
